Reservations & Wait List
Wait List (free, no commitment)
You’re welcome to join our free wait list for specific pairings or general availability. The wait list simply means you’ll be notified when kids arrive and are ready to be chosen. It does not hold a kid for you, and it does not guarantee availability.
A kid is only held once you make a formal reservation and pay the non‑refundable deposit.
Formal Reservations
When you’re ready to reserve a kid, a 50% non‑refundable deposit is required. Until that deposit is received, the kid remains available to other buyers.
Breeder’s Choice
Because we are actively developing our breeding program, we reserve the right to retain any kid born here if we feel they are important to the future of our herd. If this affects a reservation, your deposit can be transferred to another available kid or a future breeding.
How We Handle Notifications & Choosing Kids
Kidding season moves quickly here, and many kids arrive within just a few days of each other. To keep the process smooth, fair, and timely for everyone, we use a single group announcement once kids are born, settled, and evaluated.
The announcement includes photos, notes, and availability for all kids ready to be chosen.
To keep things organized and respectful of everyone’s time, we use a gentle priority flow:
Paid reservations for specific pairings choose first.
Paid reservations for “any kid” choose next.
Wait list families are invited to choose from remaining kids after reservation holders have made their selections.
Each group receives a short window to make their choices, and within each group, selections are honored in the order responses are received. This approach keeps things moving without pressure and allows us to place kids thoughtfully and efficiently.
A 50% non‑refundable deposit is required to hold your chosen kid.
Deposits & Payments
A 50% non‑refundable deposit holds your kid.
Deposits are applied to the final purchase price.
The remaining balance is due before the kid leaves the farm.
We accept cash, ACH, and credit card (buyers are responsible for any fees associated with ACH or credit card payments).
If we cancel a sale for any reason on our end, your deposit will be refunded or transferred—your choice.
Pickup Timeline
Once your kid is born and thriving, we’ll let you know when they are ready to go home. At that point, we’ll agree on a pickup date together. Any goat not picked up by the agreed‑upon date will be charged a $5 per day boarding fee.
If the goat is not picked up within 14 days of the agreed‑upon pickup date, and we have not made new arrangements, the deposit will be forfeited and the goat will be made available for sale again.
When Kids Are Ready to Go Home
All kids at Heart N Soul Farm are pulled at birth and bottle raised. This gives them a strong, consistent start and helps them bond easily with their new families.
Bottle kids may leave as early as 2 weeks, provided they are strong and thriving.
We prefer they leave before 6 weeks, as bottle raising is hands‑on work and kids transition best when they join their new homes early.
If you need us to keep a kid longer than the standard window and we’re able to accommodate it, boarding fees may apply.
What We Do Before a Kid Leaves
Kids leaving Heart N Soul Farm will have:
Disbudding
Tattooing
Coccidia prevention started at 1 week
Age‑appropriate CDT vaccination (dams are vaccinated pre‑kidding unless noted)
Hooves trimmed
A simple health record with dates and treatments
Registered kids will also have permanent identification and the appropriate registration paperwork or applications.
Male kids sold as companions are placed as pets only. They are not registered or eligible for registration. Please see the Buyer Responsibilities section for important information about neutering and care for future wethers.
Transport & Buyer Responsibilities
Most of our families are local, and kids are picked up here at the farm. To help your new little one travel home safely and comfortably, we strongly recommend bringing:
A dog crate (wire or plastic‑walled both work well)
Bedding in the bottom of the crate—shavings or straw are ideal
A towel or blanket for extra coziness if the weather is chilly
Bottle babies are wiggly, curious, and absolutely not potty trained. If they ride home in a lap, there is a very good chance they will pee or poop on you, your clothes, or your car. A crate keeps everyone clean, calm, and safe for the drive.
We will help you load your kid and make sure they’re settled before you head out.
Companionship
Goats are herd animals. We will not sell a single goat to live alone. If you do not already have goats, we offer companion wethers at a reduced price.
Basic Care
Buyers are responsible for providing appropriate shelter, fencing, nutrition, fresh water, and veterinary care for the life of the animal.
Wethers
Male kids sold as companions are placed as pets only. They are not registered, are not eligible for registration, and do not come with registration paperwork.
These boys leave the farm intact so their new families can have them neutered at the recommended age. Current recommendations for dairy goats suggest neutering between 8–12 weeks, once the urethra has had time to develop properly.
If you’re purchasing bottle boys as companions, it is the buyer’s responsibility to schedule and complete the neuter at the appropriate age. We’re happy to provide referrals to trusted farms and providers who offer this service.
Right to Refuse Sale
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a sale if we feel it is not a good fit for the goat. If we cancel, any deposit paid toward that animal will be refunded.
Agreement
By placing a deposit or purchasing a goat from Heart N Soul Farm, you acknowledge that you have read and understand these policies. The policies in effect at the time your deposit is received apply to your purchase.
